Terms of Service

These terms set out the rules for using ResumeRoo. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement between you and ResumeRoo. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. The service

ResumeRoo lets you build a profile from a resume upload or your job history and STAR examples, find APS roles, and generate tailored applications. It is a tool to support your job applications. It is not an employment agency and does not guarantee you a role.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old. Keep your sign-in details secure and be responsible for activity in your account. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

• Don't provide false or misleading information to prospective employers.
• Don't upload content you don't have the right to use.
• Don't attempt to access, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service or its AI providers.
• Don't use ResumeRoo to process anyone else's personal information without their permission.

5. AI content & your responsibility

Generated documents are assistance, not a guarantee of APS merit outcomes. Selection is decided on merit by the recruiting agency, and you remain responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of everything you submit.

6. Plans & billing

A Free plan and a Pro plan ($19/month) are available. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Refunds, where required by Australian Consumer Law, will be handled on request.

7. APS Jobs & third parties

Job listings reference publicly available APS Jobs data and any candidate information kits you provide. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Australian Public Service or any agency. Always confirm details and deadlines on the official source.

8. Intellectual property

You own the content you provide (your resume, history, and STAR examples). We retain rights to the ResumeRoo software, branding, and the service itself. You grant us the limited licence needed to process your content to provide the service.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

ResumeRoo is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or any AI-generated application. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

10. Suspension & termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, or to protect the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (such as liability and IP) remain in effect after termination.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. The courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights you may have.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or by email before they take effect. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
